Holiday Entertaining with Hot Ruby Cider

When granted the opportunity of reviewing Hot Ruby's Cranberry and Citrus Flavored Cocktail Cider, the entire house was filled with anticipation of trying it—hot cider just as the cold weather was starting to roll in? Perfection.

And when the day finally came to try the cider, we were not disappointed in the least.

Delightful, delicious, and heavenly cannot begin to describe Hot Ruby's Cider. When served warm, the cider is at its peak, warming from the inside out and instantly transporting you to a cool and cozy day that is best spent on the couch, under blankets, with a book in your hand. Truly one of the best feelings in the entire world.

The same is said when the cider is served chill—even on a warm day, you can be transported to that heavenly, cozy feeling of a fall day with just a sip of the cider, still warming your insides thanks to the delightful spices (cinnamon and clove) that are mixed into the drink.

Indeed, if I had to choose one word to describe this cider, it would be magical, because no other drink can give the feeling of a wonderful autumn day during the end of summer.

And with the end of summer comes our favorite time of year: Autumn and Fall. What's more to love than months spent with scarves and sweaters and blankets and cozy days spent on the couch with a good book (that you may or may not have read a thousand times, but I digress)?

But most importantly, there's Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. And rather you're at home watching scary movies, the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special, Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer, per Christmas tradition, or the Ball drop in Time Square, this cider is definitely going to be a staple at our family dinners.

And with family dinners, there always comes planning. To us, this is one of the best parts of the Holidays, no matter how tiresome they may become. There's nothing quite like putting up decorations, listening to Holiday tunes, making lists while drinking cups of hot cocoa-or better yet, Cider-and planning menus.

And this year, you can bet that Hot Ruby's cider is going to be on our menus.

Thankfully, the package we received contained a list of helpful recipes—including some non-alcoholic recipes for those that are underage—and a fun back story on the company that made the cider. However, always willing to experiment when it comes to cooking, I decided to try my hand at making my own recipe and mixed the cider with white wine.

My recipe:

PART - (Chilled) Hot Ruby Cranberry and Citrus
PART- White Wine
Hot Ruby is delicious on its own or used as a base in punch, cocktails, and mock-tails.

I am so glad to have been given the chance to review Hot Ruby's Cranberry and Citrus cider, and from now on it will be a staple at our family dinners.

About the company:

Ruby Faye was born in Mabelle, Texas in 1950, she and her husband Roy established their home together on a South Plains Texas farm. Upon entering her home, you could smell the cranberry cider simmering on the stove and feel the love she had for all who entered. Now you can enjoy the same cranberry cider that has been a tradition for Ruby”s family and friends.
When Ruby began making cranberry cider for her family many years ago, she didn't know the cranberries she cooked and the love she added would become Hot Ruby and be enjoyed by so many people for years to come.

Hot Ruby Cider also makes a great gift. You can use it as a hostess gift or create a gift basket for those special people in your life.
